Natureworks, PIDC host Ingeo innovation gallery

NatureWorks and Plastics Industry Development Center (PIDC) recently joined forces to promote and display a key PIDC theme of biobased materials innovation at Taipei Pack 2013, a packaging industry show that was on June 26 to June 29. The gallery showcased biobased applications of products throughout various industries, such as food service ware, durable consumer products, apparel, home textiles, and personal care and hygiene products. NatureWorks described the applications, processing, performance, and sustainability that lead brand owners to specify biobased products, while PIDC helped show how Taiwan is a leader in utilizing and capitalizing on the bio-material.

The collaboration of NatureWorks and PIDC stemmed from the dialogue the two parties started during Plasticity 2013 on June 6. Doug Woodring, event organizer of Plasticity and founder of the NGO Ocean Recovery Alliance, invited NatureWorks and PIDC to Plasticity to highlight Taiwan’s comprehensive policy framework and show how Taiwanese brands and municipalities have taken advantage of biobased materials.

Ingeo based product innovations are currently featured in more than 100 leading consumer brands and retailers in the United States, Europe, and Asia across a wide variety of products.
